An experiment at the burial ground of Welga 2019

Ассоциация "Археос" и лаборатория экспериментальной археологии ЮУрГУ приняли участие в работе полевой экспериментальной археологической школы, проходившей на базе экспедиции на могильнике Уелги под руководством доктора исторических наук Сергея Геннадьевича Боталова. В рамках работы школы были представлены технологии литья бронзы и изготовления каменных орудий. Нами был поставлен эксперимент по воспроизведению технологии литья бронзовой поясной пряжки мадьярского типа. Нашими коллегами демонстрировались технологии ткачества, валяния войлока и производства керамики.

The Archaeos Association and the Laboratory of Experimental Archeology at SUSU took part in the field experimental archeological school, which took place on the basis of an expedition to the Velga burial ground under the direction of Doctor of Historical Sciences Sergey Gennadievich Botalov. Within the framework of the school, technologies for casting bronze and manufacturing stone tools were presented. We set up an experiment to reproduce the casting technology of a bronze belt buckle of the Magyar type. Our colleagues demonstrated the technology of weaving, felting felt and ceramic production.
